Deerfield Township Parks and Recreation has partnered with Happy Cookie Market to bring you this fun and interactive workshop.
Class Description
Are you ready to celebrate America in a deliciously creative way? Join Jaclyn Rench, of Happy Cookie Market, to learn how to decorate sugar cookies using royal icing, just like a pro! The class ticket includes cookies, icing, all necessary tools and 1.5 - 2 hours of guided instruction. You will walk away with five patriotic themed cookies to serve and show off at your Independence Day celebration and maybe even a new hobby! No prior experience is necessary. Ages 12 and up are welcome.
Outside food and drinks are welcome, so feel free to bring your favorite snacks or beverage to enjoy while you decorate.
In this beginner level class, Jaclyn will teach participants about the different consistencies of icing, how to pipe and flood a cookie and then dive into various decorating techniques including, but not limited to: wet on wet designs, adding royal icing transfers, and using icing to create unique textures and designs.
Jaclyn will share loads of tips and tricks that she has learned and perfected in 12+ years of decorating cookies. You will walk away with a bakery box filled with five artfully decorated (by YOU!) cookies, leftover icing to practice with at home, and a hand decorated personalized cookie by Jaclyn herself.

Age Requirement
The age for this class is 12 years and up. However, if you have a younger child who you feel like could participate (you know your child best!) they are welcome to attend. However, in this situation, both parent and child MUST purchase a ticket due to limited seating.
Limited Capacity
Due to limited space and materials, all attendees must be pre-registered online prior to the event. No observers please.
Class Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel the class due to illness or low enrollment. In this situation, a full refund will be issued.
Per policy, cancellation requests must be received 10 days prior to the event, and are subject to a $10 cancellation fee.
