Carter Park: Stairs Renovation

The Township is undertaking a renovation project of the pathway and stairs that lead from Carter Park to the Little Miami River.

What is the project timeline?
  • The Board approved the project at the July 7, 2020 Trustee Meeting.
  • This project was completed in August 2020.

Where exactly will this project take place?
  • The project area is located off of the main wooded trail loop.
  • The stairs lead from the main wooded trail loop, down the slope to the stream.

How will the stairs be repaired?
  • Erosion and aging materials have caused deterioration of the stairs.
  • This project involves removing two sets of stairs, grading approximately 550’ of pathway, creating water diversions along the pathway to control erosion, and rebuilding the stairs.

What is the benefit of this project to the community?
  • These improvements will provide safer access to the stream and lower trails.
  • Providing safe and well maintained trails encourages community use and exploration of natural areas.
